Xbox's will probably be another Intel most likely, so don't expect anything to special. Sony also has Nvidia's graphics for their box, Xbox had Nvidia's before, and Gamecube at Ati's... As far as sheer power I don't see how the Xbox"2" is going to compete with the ps3.
That picture of the power point presentation, is the least of its power... If you read the article on slashdot.org about the cell processor, even if it was at 1ghz... It would still kick ass.
If it is worth more than the 5600, might as well get it, I'm sure it would be worth getting to try and if all fails to sell and then to purchase another card greater than your 5600.
Longhorn is going to use your video card with desktop usage possibly drawing down on usage of games well. Longhorn has been dicussed as the OS to be apart of the TCPA ( Demon which will end all open source and 3rd party programs with your hardware ) Longhorn will have a million things on it...
P4 has faster clock speeds, but the AMD64 will perform better in games with its architecture with same priced processors. So AMD64 is "Faster".
Like Asus said before, Layout your PC with all the similar parts you would be using, then get motherboard+cpu combos and figure out which one has...
Overall it is still a nvidia chipset, and different brands are still all very close to each other in performance, nothing noticable unless manufactured overclocked. I often get the cheapest card most of the time, usually if not the cheapest the next 2 dollar near.
Don't get a new computer, just replace one part ( the motherboard ) and get a new one, an AGP video card. PCI card now, is a waste of money unless the next-gen game you will get a new system. He is also right that a 9600 would be cheapest but most beneficially card. 3.4 P4 is a good...
Nope, they are slightly glorified athlon-xps....
and the 754 semprons are not the architecture of a 64bit athlon at all, they are most likely athlon-xp with that many pins, that would be to much money into a bargin chip if it was a partially disabled amd64.
I don't think this is a Valve problem, sounds like you have to high of a resolution setting for your monitor in HL2, or some problem with two high of a refresh rate and a higher resolution.
200gb is alot... If you are just starting out, 40gb is fine, just expect to buy a 80-120 later on. People who download lots and lots of videos and music are the only who use 200gb, unless you like to keep every PC game you ever owned installed.
Back to KozMic: Everything is reasonable to very good, expect the graphics card is not that good, it has support for everything but is general a very slow card. I would suggest getting an ATI 9600pro or better, or a Nvidia 6600gt or better.
With dual screens, usually there is only a small drop in fps ( 10-20 fps drop with Ati cards, and like 10-0fps with Nvidia... i believe.. ) The main reason it doesn't just cut the fps in half is because the second screen is only doing 2D applications.
I would get PCI-e, also because it is a 939 socket motherboard, allowing for more upgrades in the future with 64bit chips, plus the fact that you will be able to upgrade to future pci-e cards.
