    You shouldn't do a mod that you will think people will like, you should do a mod that YOU will like. If it's good, then other people will like it, but think of a mod idea and then plan it out in your head. Get an idea of what it will look like, and if you make it well then people will like it...

    You can start programming on the HL1 SDK if you like. Odds are the HL2 SDK will resemble it in quite a few places. You probably will have to rewrite your code, but it won't be vastly different, so it would go faster changing it than writing it from scratch when the HL2 SDK is released.

    One of the most fun things about top spin for Xbox is making the most absolutely hidious character you can imagine. It really seems like a stupid "add-on," but it makes the game much more fun, you can really get in to the game more when you actually designed the character from scratch.
