I think that those screenshots highlight the way that the models, art and engine come together so beautifully in Half-life 2. The lack of shaders and less detailed lighting system really shows on those models.
As has been mentioned before, that planetunreal quote about it looking better on...
This looks fantastic.
What I would love is if the writer of this mod (and those of other "minimods" such as Garry's mod) would release his source for the vehicles to be integrated into other mods. It's clearly a lot to ask, but such selfless donation of their work could benefit everyone.
Tell your friends that they are morons if they have the talent to do it and go ahead with it. What makes you think that Rare/Microsoft won't come crashing down on them with their "copyright law" boots?
I've only read the first few pages, so I apologise if anyone has said this, but it seems to me that the gman_6.wav says "You scientists aren't above the law"
One day we'll all have webcam scanning our faces as we play games, allowing for perfect facial, expressional and eye tracking. Of course, by then there'll be voice recognition as well, something Valve said they wanted to put in but the technology couldn't yet allow for it.
Can you imagine...
I didn't get any bugs at all, apart from a little bit of stuttering.
It reminds me of "On a rail" in HL1 where my feet got caught in a lift, so I had to noclip out of it.
After that point, my suspension of disbelief was broken and I had broken the seal on sv_cheats - the gaame wasn't the...
I used boxes to get back up to the area above where there's an office. I got all of the stuff from there and used it all to create a baricade around one of the cells, having set up two of the sentries in there pointing towards the hole in which was only big enough for a crouch -jump in.

SPOILERS! Jesus. Some people haven't finished the game yet. Don't forget the tags.
Well, that's one more surprise gone, and I know it's my own fault for even being on here. Meh.
Wow - the guy who voice acts the vortiguant is the guy who was the drill sergeant in "an officer and a gentleman". He won an Oscar for that role.
This sounds a blindingly obvious thing to say, but I'm guessing the vortiguant has something more to say than "ackackack" this time round...
Anisotropic filtering is the step up from Bilinear and Trilinear filtering. It's a different (and more modern) approach to the same problem. Therefore, 8x Anisotropic is many times better than Trilinear filtering.
There's around 50 people online at the moment (bear in mind that it's a UK site so most people are at work/school at the moment), and the mods aren't the despotic type. Of course they wouldn't allow scans, but they never stop anything that isn't actually illegal.
Again, I'm willling to...
