alot of times that error can be caused by your heatsink/fan not opperating like they should. Before you go dump a load of cash, do yourself a favor and just pick up a new hs/fan and give it a try. (Couldn't hurt to have a spare anyway)
Also, where the fan plugs into the mb, make sure that it...
I start by getting food and drink, then I call the family I haven't talked to since I started mapping, and then sit back in my chair wishing I had a working implimentation of netvis. :)
And getting a steam update to let us delete games and group them would be like running downstairs on christmas to find that Santa has brought you a taller set of shelves with a couple of drawers built in. :monkee:
Not that I would recommend my friend's not buy the game...but I kindof agree. Part of the replay value of HL1 was starting the game, cheating to get alot of guns and ammo, and running through on a rampage. That's kindof hard when you can't kill NPCs.
I was just looking forward to torturing...
I've got nearly the same setup except 512 megs of 2100 ram and an AGP 8x mobo. I use no anti-aliasing, and leave all the rest to what HL2 tells me. Seems to work fine for me.
don't forget that when HL1 came out, there were bugs as well. Valve released patches for the game numerous times - and things got better. Just be glad the wait is over. :)
heh ok. Well as a side benefit other than actually working without Steam - it won't load up that annoying SDK box you can't downsize if you just run the .exe while logged into Steam
:smoking: oh one more.
non-model vehicles in CS:S. Simple and straightforward
Make a physics map that uses a majority of the physics objects and then release the vmf. That way you have an example that goes with the tut.
Nice job tazoo. I've been reading your stuff on the *other* site since the official SDK came out.
I want a lighting tutorial on the different lighting entities and what levels would work with each.
Also, A simple tutorial on making the phys_motor work. All it does is crash CS:S for me.
"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\whoever@whereever\sourcesdk\bin\hammer.exe"
Make a shortcut to it on your desktop. I've found this to work on my machine as long as I did not try to use sourcesdk from the play games menu after launching it.

They have a story today about the versions of XBOX 2 and how one will be a PC pretty much. Who needs a specifically written HL2 port when you can just use the PC version on it ? ;)
Haven't seen that one before, but have you followed this water tutorial? It will help.
