Olympics

Nah just found out the drug is a beta blocker which allows one to hold the rifle steadier.

The only thing I've noticed in the Olympics so far is that anytime I see Micheal Phelps out of water, he looks retarded.

Are you sure? I had watched male gymnast live. It is very clear that Chinese competitors outperformed US'. The difficulty of a move is not merely a count of the number flips or twists. And that the difficulty numbers of different moves were preset by IOC long before the Beijing Games.

I was referring more to last nights judges. It got to the point that even the commentators were saying shit like "ok that cant be right it shouldn't be that high" for some of the chinese girls.

Are you sure the commentators weren't bias against China? Every commentator harbors bias for their respective country.Because it is a sense of national pride. Commentators in China show the same. They always say how the movements of other gymnasts were flawed and how well Chinese gymnasts performed. But we should be very discreet on what commentators said on TV.

Did you watch it last night? There were parts where the chinese girls obviously botched landings, and made tons of other mistakes yet they would end up with higher execution scores then everyone else (Not just against the US here). I mean towards the end it started getting better but during the stuff like the Uneven Parallel Bars, and the Vault it was pretty obvious that there was something wrong with the scoring.

Seeing the events held today, I would say the judges hardly biased for any country. Subjective opinion is hard to avoid since the judges are human. This can be considered as an unfortunate event. Live with it lol

I think this whole controversy around the Chinese Gymnasts age, whether they're 14 or 15, rather than 16... is ridiculous. I think it's spawned by poor sportsmanship and the inability to accept defeat. Even if they turn out to be `14 or 15, rather than 16... I still think it's retarded to whine about it.

But.. that's just me.

I mean serious, hearing some people talk, it's like they magically can tell the differences between a 15 year old and a 16 year old.

"No no... she can't be 16 at all. There's no possible way! You can tell! She must be 15."

Geez... but, then again, they'll do what they do... and I'm not a die hard Olympic follower, so I don't really care about "THE RULES, THE RULES!"

As for the age controversy, I hope the same point of view with you guys. I will not be surprised if those girls are underage. Hey, they look frigging too young. But I don't think an underage pose any advantage on a gymnast. The major problem is on humanity. Putting such small children on a large competition and training them everyday is less than humane.

Except people can be hypocritical if they claim that. The girls who are 16 or older performing Olympics, didn't just start the year they turned 16. It's been an almost lifelong pursuit, pushed not only by themselves(in most cases probably), but also by their parents, and any coaches they've acquired along the way who want to see them do good, as well as garner a reputation for themselves. The culmination of the Olympic moment is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the actual number of times they've done these routines and practiced and slaved away.

Then you have parents and stuff who enroll their daughters in beauty pageants... or parents who get their kids involved in the physically punishing sports such as football etc, at a very very young age.

It's so easy to say China is bad, when they're not doing anything the rest of the world doesn't already do.

I still think the Olympic commitee should be ***ked and burned for what theyve done, adding things they call 'sport' to the list.

As far as im concerned, the Olympics should go back to its roots, back to Greece where men threw discs etc. Obviously women get involved too to keep the mobs happy.

I mean come on, I know the definition of what a sport is, but how the hell is horse jumping, synchronised swimming and diving a ***king Olympic sport? For god sake, HORSE JUMPING!?

Sports are supposed to be exciting to watch, i dont wanna flick over to see who's won gold in a real contest like the 100m sprint to find some midget on a horse jumping over sticks.

Obviously for TV and stadium audience. :|
Some IOC members admitted that.

Yeh there are a lot of sports currently in the Olympics that I would wholeheartdly disagree with, I think they did it as a means of creating a wider variety of 'sports' as a means of increasing the total viewing of the games.

We could go back to running around naked too. :x

Diving is actually really interesting to watch.

Nakedness would even the playing field. Due to technological advances in fabric making athletes (and especially swimmers) have a huge advantage over athletes from 20 years ago.

Man, Diving is indeed ****ing awesome to watch. I'm on nbcolympics.com watching the olympic footage replays and stuff with silverlight. ****ing impressive stuff... watching synchronized diving at the moment.

The women have really manly bodies though... a bit too much muscle definition for my tastes. But they're still okay.

Silverlight is a ****ing amazing microsoft technology by the way.

Watching trampoline now... pretty cool stuff. EDIT: Oh but the trampoline footage is from 2004 in athens... I must of stumbled to a wrong area.

Now... the volleyball players backs... <drools> I was watching the cubans vs the united states, and all four of those women looked HOT!

Those 2 Chinese girls ****ing owned at synchronized diving. I cheered for them. I was like, "WOW!"
Computer-like synchronization and a smaller splash than a baby goldfish. God those girls are tiny! The Aussies did fantastic all things considered. They looked like giants compared to the Chinese.

Are those the ones that are like 8 years old? Oh wait, no, they are 16. :hmph:

No these ones looked old enough.

For the past 7 years, China has been preparing for these Olympics like no other country ever has. You have to give them credit. Though I can imagine that their training was bordering on cruel, though that's just speculation.

so basically, they took a bunch of children and turned them into Olympic soldiers in 7 years.

IF YOU DON'T WIN, WE BANISH YOU FROM COUNTRY WITH FIRE!
D:
oh noes

There aren't enough torrents up. Haven't seen shit but 15 swimming events and a couple misc.

It's bullshit. Come on people, upload that sheet.

What was the latest time of Usain Bolt again?

Jeez... that man is fast

Wow, Bolt blew me away with that run. First of all, he stumbles off the blocks (very minor, but look closely at his feet), then he stops trying at 80m and STILL breaks the world record with a time of 9.69 seconds!

I kinda wish that he had given it his all just to see how much he could have beaten the record by but still, he is in a league of his own.

Ok, I've tried everywhere. I officially can't see ****ing Judo or Taekwondo.

I

****ING

HATE

THE

OLYMPICS.

Umm,last Judo match was on the 14th and Taekwondo doesn't start until the 20th.

Do some research before you decide to throw a tantrum.
