I get the same problem but its even worse, those certain spots also give me sound stutters, its completely unplayable for me. I tried everything and nothing helped. The only way I get around this is by playing in DX Level 7 witch sucks because I get no eye candy ;(
I get the same problem the thing I do to get rid of them is to switch DX mode ingame. like start in DX 7 in the game then switch to DX 9 and then back to DX 7.

wow... I got a 10 FPS increase in the stress test. from 38 to 48 with 4 AF, High Quality settings at 1280 by 1024 resulution.

when you go to see the full interview, Doug said that they released CS:Source early because it was ready :rolleyes: they call that ready? it looks like they rushed the game. And it has many bugs.

I have the same problem, the only way to fix it is to play the game in mat_dxlevel 70. that solves the problem, although you will get not see all the eye candy thats in dxlevel 90. I am just waiting for valves next patch and hope they fix this.
ya I just tried Direct X 7 and it fixed everything. It looks crappy though but still quite entertaining. :hmph:
it fixed my problem but for some odd reason I get about the same FPS.
