No, reviews are always "out of box" with no patches. Sucks for them, but they "should" have had it out of box if they wanted to be graded on it
(However, I rather think they don't care too terribly much about the reviews)
why in the world do you guys think something sexually related should be more offensive than something violent?!
Not that you're even close to alone in this...I don't understand it from anyone.
Whatever!
no one stated it as if it were fact; I fail to see how your signature is even remotely relevant.
In fact, he notes that others might think differently and goes on to say "I thought the ending sucked"
I'd say that fits neatly into the "I understand opinions are different from facts" box.
Hasn't someone ever told you "Dont be stupid" or "don't be silly" before?
They're not saying you are, they're saying that what you're saying is--ie, that it's UNCHARACTERISTICALLY so.
Sorry you misunderstood me though...I apologize for not being clear.
(I mostly just meant, "Don't try to use...
go play through and read the paragraphs that (as I mentioned) are IN the game....
Except for (some people's perceptions of) immersion, inserting a paragraph about the plot is not really any different from what happened in HL2 (I do agree more that HL's plot developed as you went though, with...

teleport gun?
I agree with all your points except the NPCs. NPCs almost never work for me in games, unless they are vague (otherwise it gets too far into "I'm not reacting at all like the person you're talking to. I'm throwing soda cans in your face and you're talking to me like...
Yeah but we learned more about Luke becoming a Jedi and more of the previous plot about the empire and so on.
We didn't suddenly have a plot about the evil..uh...Rodians or something trying to take over the universe. It was STILL the Empire. Nor did Duchess Lucy Starbanger suddenly appear and...
In Half-Life 2 all that happened was I drove some vehicles, threw soda cans, found batteries and shot people.
Don't be stupid. every single game's actual game play goes like that.
Doom was around before we could even see cutscenes. As a result--and as many seem to be ignoring--it had textual...
If I hear the phrase "spoon fed" one more time, I am going to shove a spoon down every one of your ****ing throats. :frown:
( :E )
(but seriously, STOP IT.)
Sure we can piece together what ALREADY happened...I don't know of anyone claiming otherwise...and I mean, what does the time...
Pandora's Box is a metaphor for tampering with things you don't understand, not literally releasing.
They indirectly released the demons by tampering with teleportation.
I was actually using a sort of gravity gun before HL2 (though I don't know if it was before the leak) in U4e (a mod for UT2k4 that has been around since U1).
Called the "IAM"--used for flipping about people and vehicles.
Granted, he may have gotten the idea from HL2 or something, I don't...
I could deal with g-man remaining mysterious, but it felt totally pointless otherwise...
I thought the ending sucked as well.
Insofar as "What the hell kind" was it? Apparently, the same kind as Halo 2...
(or so I'm told)
This is not even close to the first time this has happened. Don't be silly.
Games copy games ad infinitum, and I was laughing all the time every time someone said "LOLOLOL!!! DOOM 3 COPIES HALF LIFE!" without noting the fact that it's "Doom 3"--emphasis on the THREE, meaning it is the third...
There seemed to be a strong implication that he was headstrong/stubborn in his brainwashe-edness regarding the combine: either they forced him to believe, or, through some bizarre logic (in the same way that genocidal leaders come to their conclusions) decided they were "right" about humanity...
Hardly a spoiler, it's in the damn intro :P
But because of that, it acts as if it will appear LATER, too. that whole intro acted as if it was foreshadowing----and much of it was. But parts of it never showed up, thus creating that "oh shit, forget those levels we've gotta finish!" feeling...
