err wow lotta hostility in here. :D
Just to recap on my opinion (of course :p).. I'm not saying the specialists looks or sounds or uses technology better than max payne. I also don't claim it has a story, obviously, it is a mp deathmatch mod :p.
However, I have spent a lot of time playing...
oh yeah, and also
-The game just SCREAMS "look at my shiny havocness" without actually using it for anything remotrely interesting.
-every time I got into a gunfight I kept thinking I was playing The Specialists, then realizing I wasn't, and it wasn't anywhere near as fluid. or...
Apart from the cool new physics engine, I thought the game was exactly like the first one. Bloody boring actually. the bullet time gimmick wore off in max payne 1 and im not loving it more now cos they added sepia tone to it :p I appreciate that they tried to improve upon the linear nature of...
none of the hl2 demos I've seen even had realtime AI enabled that I'm aware of. I'm sure it'll be rock though. Not something gabe really went into huge amounts of detail with, so it'll be interesting to see eh.
lalala, I wasn't even talking about the boy render. His gnome guy or whatever it is shows a similar level of realism, with pictures of the texture map, as well as renders from many viewpoints. Actually I have no idea what point you were trying to make anymore, since you seem to have gone back on...
Repeat after me: Bench. Mark.
Benchmark. It's a standardised tool used to measure the performance of a given set of entities. They would use a benchmark that realistically reflects performance of the actual game.
yeah you could do it. first we need a unified theory though. right now you have to cover one eye while you look at one thing, then the other while you look over here.. :D
ya gunman was low budget, but good fun once you get into it. nice and short so you dont get bored too quickly as well. Could probably finish it in 6-8 hours on the first go.
