Far Cry SP demo

Ive had it for about 10 hours now... it's cool... but apparently I must suck since I haven't been able to finnish it yet :/ one guy at the fort keeps killing me.
 
I would use torrent but I have never gotten a file with it that wasn't currupt
 
Shame we cant go over the whole island. Every time i try to drive/walk around i die :(


Anyone else tried shooting a heli down with the rocket launcher...only to stand in shock as the rocket simply explodes and does no damage? I love throwing rocks to distract people, thats really fun. At one point, i threw a rock over a wall where some mercs were stood, they said "hey did you see that?" Then when it landed they went "What was that?" and started shooting into the bushes around where the rock landed...I then of course crawled up behind them and smashed their heads in with the oh so cool knife.
 
it's fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111z0r! god... when is this coming out? the hype machine is wrentching on my poor soul!!!

GAMESPOT! It's 350kb/s on my DSL. Jus tsign up for the basic and d/l the installer for DLX. Immediate d/l's and no waiting.

AGH! FRICKING CORRUPT! I'm only downloading it once more but that's it. It already took 1 hour last time, now I have to wait another fricking hour.

WHAT THE HELL. :x
 
I believe files are becoming currupted from being downloaded by 100k people at a time

How do I d/l it and shiz hunter? Can you give me directions on how to make that a 496mb Far Cry demo?
 
You need a Torrent software. Search Google for "BitTorrent"

Once it's installed, double-click the .torrent file :)

i can't take this man. Ive been trying yesteday to dload this no link works for me all say busy. and the few that do work i get 1-20kb/sec. Damnit all to hell!

now what what? if u got Bit Torrent installed, just double click the .torrent file inside the .zip folder i attached to my last post... and to WhiteBoy... maybe you have a bad version of Bit Torrent... uninstall it and find a new one
 
Well I have two versions, 3.3 and experimental :D. The 3.3 downloads at about 1kbs, and the experimental downloads 1.4gigs in 1.2 minutes :).. yet the files are always currupt lol
 
when u shoot dead people they DO move around...anyways looks like theres nuttin special about hl2 anymore...both this and stalker play very good and have excellent gfx.
 
wooho i found a decent mirror..downloading at 130 kbps..well its not top notch but its better than most mirrors i found :)..well i give u guys the URL to the site when im done downloading :p
 
i give up. EVERY link i try is dead and or fails miserably. Jesus never took me so long and hard to get a simple demo.

..whiteboy were u gettin 300kbs from?(and bits or byts)
 
im done since last night...the AI is amazing...anyone know how to get godmode??? plzz tell me..and notarget mode too...i want to see this AI up close
 
How do you use the AI up close in notarget mode? It just makes enemies dismiss you as a target. It is just like NPC freeze. Just not frozen.

oh... it's not DLing it... it's allocating the file size! no wonder! it just makes a bunch of 0's in the file so it takes up the space w/o having the file... just leave it on for a while and see what happens
 
Wow, that was hella fun! Excellent sound... EAX doesn't screw up or anything! GREAT AI... it scared me a few times (sneaking up behind me; rushing out from foliage)... and I've only played through it once! It ran kinda doggishly on 800x600 with 'high' details, but I'm getting the new ATi drivers so I hope that'll help. It does look great, and being able to see things from so far away is awesome.

The AI seems really bad to me. The guys just seem to run around like idiots before they decided to shoot me. Also, when the guys come out of the osprey all but 3 of them disappear into the ground. Anybody know how to get god mode? I want to explore the island without getting killed by that stupid helicopter.

BTW, switch through your grenades and you have rocks and flashbangs.

Did you play on hard? The AI seemed pretty keen on hard (although still a bit stupid)

Anyhow, after playing the demo, I can't wait for the full game
 
Why are there severial differnt sized version around? ive seen three places where it was 500MB and sever ather places where it was 480 MB. Someone cutting something out or adding something?

Rocks are already in your supply and are unlimited. You only need to press "G" to throw one.
 
I thought the AI was also alittle bit sluggish and wierd at times but I definitly think those are just bugs that they are going to fix.
A couple times when they would go down the stairs, the would jump up and down really fast and other times they would just run up to me and not shoot me for a couple seconds. when I shot a guy and his partner checked him, I waited for awhile and no reinforcments came, not even a couple guys to help him out. Ow well, I think that will all be tweaked in the final version.
I liked hunting the wild bores. I had fun killing them. I also like the damage effect (you can see your bullet holes on the body. Loots of good thing in that demo.
I think its the best demo since Call of Duty.
Definitly worth the download
 
right now at 102 kbps, gonna do my homework, come back after two hours then play some gaming bliss :smoking:
