Erg, I edited and didn't even fix the typo.
"I believe iD could have done a FAR better job as far as scripting zombie/monster encounters goes, because no gamer who has played Doom 3 can deny that the gameplay doesn't get stale."
I expected far better. The most appropriate summation of the game is countless (read: repetitious) encounters with demons who lurch out from behind rediculously unoriginal fake-panelled storage rooms that 'conveniently' have enough space for that demon, with nice graphics. Part of the intrigue...
lol, it is already on IRC bots.
A Best Buy near Minneapolis is doing that special 12am opening on the third. I'm holding a Doom3 LAN that night in celebration where we're all going to rush BB for our copies together. Man, just went full-blown geek ;)
I see myself waiting outside BestBuy until they open on both the Doom3 and HL2 release dates. I can't say that for any other game that has ever come out ;)
Just because a monitor has a low response time, 16ms for example, does not mean it won't ghost. The difference between the rise and fall of the pixel is also pretty important. For instance, if one 16ms LCD's pixel rise is 10ms and 6ms fall, it will ghost more than another 16ms LCD with 8ms...
CS:S is looking great! Everything that's displayed in those screens look excellent.
I still can't wait to see if we can nail frag grenades out of the air.
About the MP stuff, everyone look at their versions of the HL2 E3 demos and check for something. I believe it was the second...
Damn, awesome post synthos.
As far as what I watch..
Yuyu Hakusho
Ghost in the Shell (I just started watching it, seems great though)
Cowboy Bebop (You have to see this series if you're just getting into anime)
Outlaw Star
Trigun (meh.. wasn't all that great to me but worth watching)...
Hello,
I'm from HL2.net and have read that in addition to VALVe aiming to RC
at the end of July (great news), you are also aiming for a teen ESRB
rating. I'd like to know what your thinking is behind striving for
the rather average content rating. I'm not questioning your move, but
fans...
Hm.. I wonder if you will be able to detonate a HE/flash in the air by shooting it, being that it's a physically simulated object. If anything, shoot it to deflect it. That'd be such a nice touch.
