I remember on the AA launch how they didn't have enough mout servers so they were all slammed from thousands of people trying to connect at once. Sitting in the gamespy arcade room spamming MOUT! MOUT! MOUT! **** the army, fun stuff.
Why do you continue to post here? You need to contact valve/steam support to get your cd-key on another account. Anything you say here is utterly pointless.
You made a stupid mistake and now you have to face the consequences. Whether its right or wrong you have NO say in it.
And...
It doesn't matter, unless they use the gauntlet name or specific intellectual property from gauntlet, there will be no problem.
I'd like to see how fighters, wizards, and elves can be called intellectual property though.
Megacolon has a point, while Steam has prevented some piracy, it has not stopped it. Is that worth all the trouble people are put through?
On the other hand, steam shut off 20,000 hacked accounts. Thats a million dollars in sales.

The problem with RPG's is that you need a large amount of levels to make a good experience, and in general a lot of time. If you're going single-player, you need hundreds of pages of script put into the game, along with the models, animations, and voices. IF you're going MP only, then you have...
You NEED >=1gb RAM to have an enjoyable experience in HL2. Unless of course if you have a good book or movie to watch while the freakin game loads. I noticed a 200-300% increase in loading times, if not more by replacing my 512mb pc2700 with 1gb of pc3200.
I think 1.5gb is optimal though.
