Something I think people are keen to forget is that I'm pretty sure any legal agreement will mean that Vivendi get the last word on whether the game is ready to release.
If they were feeling particularly difficult and wanted to pile the pressure on they could legitimately keep bouncing the RC...
As for saving/quicksaving I think ultimately the fact that D3 autosaves at every level start and then leaves you to get on with it is a good thing. If you don't want quicksaving because it diminishes the tension(which it does) then don't use it. Bind the key to something else.
I didn't...
The new metal holes are cooler generally for the barrels, but they seem to look a bit funy when you hit a car and they're a little 'inconsistent' in how good they look.
Generally I like the new bullet mark decals, not completely sold on the wood holes, but we'll see.
Well, for the FPS scene at least I think the heyday of mods is coming to an end. The time and expertise required to turn something that looks professional is rapidly expanding and although I'm sure we'll see some fine mods for HL2 I suspect we'll see less.
Fortunately in many ways, HL2 does...
I would imagine he has a zillion emails, many from proper news sources rather than just curious fans. It's likely he's asleep and unaware of the excitement though since it's only like 4 am or something over in Valveland.
So is the slightly snarky tone of this newspost going to be fixed then?
Since HL2 Fallout have sensibly put up a rather large caveat as soon as Mr Bond was able to check the details that would seem reasonable.
I do't think it reflects very well on this site as is. Makes us look bitter or...
I don't think it's unlikely now, they made that bold claim that they would be bug free by this date but CS:S is plagued b bugs, quite a number of them extreme showstoppers, and since that's running on the HL2 engine there's evidently some stabalising that needs to be done.
This man is right. Although like he says, considering the cost should be cheaper because it's not hampered by delivery channels, the cost of CS:CZ on Steam is outrageous.
It's bump mapping, it's largely redundant in the current map because the lighting is so uniform and bland. It looks quite a bit better in the stress test map where they have more directional and more varied (but still static) lighting.
Normal mapping would be a stage further than this and...
I see where you're coming from Feath, it does seem obvious after all. BUT they are being asked the question, and have been asked the question multiple times. Each time you either receive an answer that's as ambiguous as a fairground horoscope or, if it's asked in a fashion that would make a...
Mm, right now I wouldn't be suprised. CS:S is somewhat less than stable or without its problems some of which are showtoppers (weren't they supposed to be going bug free a couple of weeks ago?)
Whatever, it's plainly just not 'done' yet, although it's coming along nicely, the last patch...
Of course, what you haven't realised yet is there is no HL2 game, it's a movie, a bink movie we get to see in 1237 parts as valve occasionally releases a new episode. ;)
Best of luck, I really don't see it happening. It's mystifying to me why they can't simply say -
"yes, HL2 has it's own multiplayer that is not part of CS:S."
or
"No, the only multiplayer component shipping with HL2 is CS:S".
It really is a simple question and answering it in that...
Thief 3, really didn't disappoint after they patched it of course, but still great.
And the Shalebridge Cradle level is one of the greatest level design pieces ever.
My money says things will change not one bit basically.
As in the CS source bink what will happen is that you'll see people will always chuck grenades at barrels to scatter them & stop them being used as cover, and that'll be about it.
Unless the barrells are going to be more use as cover...
There's a great comment in one of the new reviews that says (paraphrasing) the bosses are one of the game highlights, ranging from the size of a bus up to the size of a tower! Can't wait.
