Hahaha!
That's my email! I originally wrote to Doug Lombardi to settle a stupid argument on GameFAQs, I just threw the pre-load question in for the hell of it.

Heh, Introversion hitting a release date, that's a good one.
Seriously though, looking very nice. I was wondering how it'd actually play, hard to learn much about the game play watching NPCs Nuke it out.
Valve has already said:
1. You do spend practically the whole game with Alyx
2. They've spent a lot of time improving the AI for her (I would also assume that some of those improvements would carry over to enemies and allies)
EDIT: Gah, beaten
Basically, he used a shit load of spells and items to boost his Athletics and Acrobatics skills to such high levels the game engine went nuts and let him do jumps like that
Woah, that one came out of nowhere. Was there any announcement about the game coming to Steam before it was released last night?
EDIT: Hm, looks kinda cool from the shots in the Steam Store. Might try a demo if I can find one
No, you most certainly do not. The 'Achievement Points' are just shitty little points you get for doing things in a game to show that you are 'better' than other people. They have as much use a forum post count
I was in the Arcane Universaty at the time when he attacked me. In the Arch-Mage's lobby-thing (second floor, below his bedroom) at 2pm.
Let's just say the light show was pretty. Didn't even have time to draw my sword
...yes, thank you. Now if you would care to go and check the time between my post and Chris' news post, you would notice that I posted that about two hours before the official non-Steam release.
Hm, odd. I can't think of any reason why Introversion would bother tailoring the patch to Steam...
Could some one with the Steam version take a look at the version information for me and tell me what it says? (Under Options>Other Options) The beta is win32-full-1.4.2b2, what version is the Steam release?
There is going to be one, just not before release. The Devs said that they wanted to focus on getting the game finished first, then they'll finish up the demo
I think Valve has actually released it too early. The non-Steam version patch is still in beta testing, considering the Steam and boxed versions are identical there should be no reason that one should be out earlier than the other
